Today – at 12:30 p.m. – my favorite little boy turns six!
He’s in kindergarten and has come a long way in the last six years. He was pretty easy to give birth to and being his mother hasn’t been terribly difficult, either. Compared to my nephews, he’s been an easy boy to handle thus far (meaning, he’s so calm compared to them lol).
My favorite part of being his mother is bedtime, when he puts his little hands on my cheeks and gives me “little boy kisses” and a hug. Every single night! I always tell him I will miss these little boy kisses when he’s a bigger boy and he has no idea how much I mean that. Last night when I kissed my five-year-old son goodnight for the last time, I started bawling. (He noticed and asked why my cheeks were wet – lol!) No more five-year-old little boy; he’s now six and closer to the double digits than to infancy.
We celebrated with a birthday party this weekend at Chuck E. Cheese and he received PLENTY of gifts, but there are still more to open this evening. He’s requested hot dogs and macaroni & cheese for his birthday dinner and we’ll also have a bit of homemade birthday cake too.
I certainly hope he enjoys being six!
Happy birthday, little man! We love you more than you can imagine. ♥
