Yesterday was awesome, despite the long day at work. I did six special orders yesterday, so that means money for me this week while I’m out! Money is good. We usually only order one or two things a week (per sales person) and I had SIX orders back-to-back. Yeouch. Anyways, it’s all good. We were pretty busy and I was glad to get the day over with. Oh, our techs were giving each of us a country name – mine’s Billie Jean for some reason .. *shrug* but hey, at least I have a song ..

We (Sears) had a Customer Appreciation Sale from Thursday to Saturday .. 10% off of hardlines (tools, appliances, automotive, etc.) and 15% off of softlines (clothes, shoes, etc.). My dad’s been wanting this reciprocating saw, so we decided it would be a good time to go since I get 10% associate discount and I had a $5 off coupon as well. In August we bought a VCR/DVD combo at the same deal – it was on sale for $149 at the time (reg. $179) and we got two different 10% off discounts (it was Friends & Family Night, the associates get some good deals). The VCR/DVD combo is nice – we have never had a problem with it at all. It’s on sale again for $149, so I decided to get one.

So we get down to Sears and go right into Tool Territory. Evidently they were out of the saws, so the sales guy is gonna order one. They couldn’t order one, so they offered to sell him the display at an additional 10% off! So he went for it. The geniuses had the wrong saw on display, but they had to sell us the display model for the advertised price – my dad ended up getting an $89.99 saw plus a $10 pack of blades for $44! Woohoo.

I got the VCR/DVD combo. I also got Jaiden 2 outfits (one was originally $14, the other $17) and a cute sweater off of the clearance rack (which was originally $17, but was marked $4.74). Now, the 2 outfits were marked already at 30% off, plus the 15% off for the cust app sale, and my 20% off .. well, I got the sweater for $3! I paid $129 for $238 worth of merchandise. I love it.

As if that wasn’t already good enough ..

We went to Pizza Hut. To make a long story short, the cook dropped our pizza, didn’t tell anyone & left because he was off work. The manager made us a new one. We paid $5.97 (the cost of my dad’s beers) and got 3 sodas (free refills), 4 salad bars, jalapeno poppers, and a large pizza that was half supreme and half meatlover’s. Our bill was supposed to be $32. Wow. Nice, cheap evening we’re having. We got some great deals. Total family savings: $201. We saved more than we spent. I love it.

Soo .. whew. I’m going on a mini vacation today through Wednesday morning. It’s gonna be 20° warmer there than it will be here – I can’t wait. This will be Jai’s first roadtrip! On Wednesday afternoon I get to meet Jaiden’s new babysitter – I really have a feeling this will work out. She came VERY highly recommended by three different neighbors, so that is awesome. She watches a little boy up the street and also for a family that used to live across the street from me. I am loving the fact that she is a grandmother (also the mother of someone I went to school with for a long time), watches other children, she’s accredited by the Navy, and she is inexpensive! Woohoo! Go me. Life is so not stressful right now.

Now I’m off to supervise Jaiden doing her laundry (heh heh)!
